Installation Guide
Before Proceeding:
(1) It is highly recommended that you have the latest calculator OS for your specific model, this software can be obtained from here"fx-9860GII/fx-9860G series". Ensure you select the OS that matches your specific model of your calculator from under the heading of fx-9860GII/fx-9860G series (it will do no harm by accidentally selecting the wrong OS but you will receive an error message when attempting to update). By downloading this software, you are accepting the terms and agreements as listed on the Casio website. Refer to http://edu.casio.com/ for more information.
(2) Download any programs you wish to install from the programs section to a location on your computer that you can remember and access easily.
(3) Ensure downloaded programs are extracted from the zip file if they are in one, the program file will be a .G1M file if it is not in a zip file. DO NOT attempt to copy the zip file to your calculator.

Download the FA-124 software manager from here (This is the version for the latest OS calculators). In order to get the software, select the check box of your calculator model under the heading "fx-9860GII/fx-9860G series" and click next. On the next page, select "FA-124 Ver.2.00 (for Windows only)" and the download will begin. By downloading this software, you are accepting the terms and agreements as listed on the Casio website. Refer to http://edu.casio.com/ for more information. Be sure to click the OK button while the "Save File" option is selected to download the file to your computer

Once the download is complete, extract the installer to a known location and double click the file to begin installing the software on your computer. Make sure you install the program in a location where you will be able to find it in future. You may receive a message asking to install the device driver software, you must install this software or your computer will not be able to communicate with you calculator.

Step 3:
Launch the CASIO FA-124 program by using the icon on your desktop or launching it through the installation directory. A screen like the one below should be displayed.

Connect your graphics calculator to your computer using the USB link cable that came with your calculator. If you have the latest update (or latest calculator), press the F1 button on the calculator when it automatically displays the link menu. If you do not have the update, it is highly recommended you install it before proceeding, otherwise to proceed, go to link in the main menu, set cable type to USB, wakeup to on and capture to memory. Then press F2 to initiate data receive mode on the calculator.
Connect your graphics calculator to your computer using the USB link cable that came with your calculator. If you have the latest update (or latest calculator), press the F1 button on the calculator when it automatically displays the link menu. To initiate the computer link, go to the open FA-124 software window and press the link button in the top left of the window. The computer program will then being to read the data on the calculator and transfer it to the computer. This will be displayed on your computer screen through a series of blue bars loading. Please wait until this is finished.
NOTE: Any data transferred to the computing during this initial process will disappear after exiting the program of disconnecting the calculator.

Once the computer has read your calculators memory, expand the 'User1' file tree under the calculator window (on the left of the screen) by clicking the little plus sign to the left of it. Turn your attention to the right side of the FA-124 manager. Firslty, locate where you have saved the program file on your computer. Click and drag the downloaded program file from the folder it is currently in and drop it on the 'Default' part of the file tree which is located under 'FA-124' (on the right of the screen). This should automatically create a new folder on this side called 'program' and transfer whichever calculator program you have dragged across into the FA-124 'program' file (This transferred program will remain here unless manually deleted). To transfer it to the calculator, click and drag the program from the 'program' folder under the 'FA-124' file tree and drop it on the 'program' folder under the 'User1' file tree. Repeat the dragging file process for as many programs as you wish to copy over to your calculator. Alternatively, you can just drag the program folder itself if you want to copy the entire folder. When you are done transferring close the FA-124 program on your computer (You can delete the calculator program from the downloaded location if you wish as it no longer needs to be there and a backup of all the programs you have transferred will remain in the FA-124 software to be re-transferred if the occasion ever arises).
